THE SPLENDOUR OF INDONESIAN BATIK: EXISTENCE, DEVELOPMENT AND GLOBAL IMPACT

Batik tulis traditional as a noble work inherited from the Indonesian ancestors has given birth to various new cultural constructions. The Batik tulis traditional artl is also a cultural strength of the Indonesian people which has inherited the integrity of the tribes and languages in Indonesia which can be strongly tied in batik cloths; which have been appreciated and used for generations by the ancestors of the Indonesian people in various parts of the archipelago.

The development of the batik tradition in Indonesia started with batik keraton (palace) which is very closely related to Javanese cultural philosophy and originates from the thoughts of Javanese society which is centered in the palace, now it has been adopted in various parts of Indonesia and developed rapidly from traditional to touch-based technology. Indonesian batik has been recognized worldwide through UNESCO since 2009 and it should be maintained.

The efforts to socialize and preserve traditional batik with a variety of beautiful motifs are a shared responsibility, especially for the Indonesian people, as proof that a cultured nation is a nation that respects the rich heritage of its ancestors.
