Mrs. Nuryanti Widya

who is more familiarly called Yeyen Komar, was born in Cirebon, Java Island, Indonesia.  She started her batik business with her husband, Dr. H. Komarudin Kudiya, called Rumah Batik Komar in  Bandung, Indonesia, in 1998.


Growing up in Cirebon, which is one of main batik production centers in Java, and going to school in Bandung city, which is well-known as a city of fashion in Indonesia where many fashion designers and brands were establishedm made Yeyen and her husband successful in developing traditional and contemporary batik motifs that are unique, up to date, and could give prestige value for each user.


Apart from running a batik business, she is also active in various communities and foundations including being Chair of the Bandung branch of the Indonesian Cloth Love Community (KCBI) and Treasurer of the West Java Batik Foundation (YBJB).

RUMAH KOMAR BATIK

Batik Komar is the only traditional batik craftsman in Indonesia who has a background as a reliable and trusted academic and practitioner and is concerned with complete and detailed documentation of works starting from collecting basic sketches/drawings from A4 to A0 sizes equipped with digital data formats in complete vector formats.

The collection of batik designs has more than 10,000 sketches, neatly arranged in the form of physical and digital documentation that can be used as a reference for anyone interested in learning it.

Batik Komar has 150 batik designs that have received Copyright certification from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Its collection of batik stamps  consists of various batik decorations from all over the Indonesian archipelago totaling more than 4000 designs, neatly arranged in stamp storage racks with inventory codes based on the type and shape of the stamp available.

In addition to the collection of batik designs and stamps, Batik Komar has more than 50 batik documentation books and some have received ISBNs and have been circulated and used as references for batik craftsmen in various regions.
